DRUG INFORMATION

If you cannot find the answer, you do not know the answer.  Information regarding almost any aspect of a drug is readily available via a simple search.  But is the first hit on "Google" the most reliable source?  When you are the one responsible for an answer regarding medication, make sure it is the right answer.  Relying upon a site that is influenced by commercial propaganda or excessive advertising dollars is a poor choice.  In addition, general search engines produce much too broad a spectrum of results from which one has to sift through for the right source.  The following are professional resources often relied upon in practice:
MedlinePlus
US National Library of Medicine Drug Information Portal
Centers for Disease Control
FDA Drugs
US Department of Agriculture Herbal Information
Poison Control
Safe Kids Safety Basics
FDA MedWatch
US NLM Biomedical Literature Database
University of Iowa Drug Information Service
University of Montana Drug Information Service
